Are there any physical exercises that redure the snoring, do Running and swimming reduce snoring? Please tell me some suitable exercises that reduce snoring ? what are the main reasons for a persons snoring? Thank you

  2. Try the breathe right strips. They could help. Also, depending on your weight, an increase of weight in your chest/abdominal area can cause snoring too.
    Things such as a deviated septum or sinus pollyps can also cause snoring. Another thing is sleep apnea.
    My step dad has sleep apnea caused by a deviated septum. He has one of those CPAP machines and it has helped him greatly.
    I would see about doing a sleep study if over the counter stuff doesn’t work. I know there are sprays that are suppose to help as well. So try the OTC sprays and those strips. If those don’t work, I’d see about doing a sleep study

  3. You should get a referral to an ear nose and throat specialist(ENT). They can assess they airway and suggest a coarse of action. It might be your tonsils and/or adenoids requiring surgery. If it is a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea(OSA), then you will need a sleep study. If this is not possible, then the other answers will suffice.

    • buy a mouth guard – mouth guards will keep your jaw muscles from relaxing too much, and prevent snoring. It may not be too attractive to your significant other but it’ll help you both get some sleep! :)
    • Lose weight – when you’re heavier the extra weight puts pressure on your airway, causing snoring.
    • if you smoke try to stop – smoking damages your respiratory system, which doesn’t help in the snoring department

    Excessive snoring may also mean you have a more serious problem like sleep apnea.

    If you wake up with a headache, are extremely tired during the day, don’t feel refreshed when you wake up, have trouble concentrating or a very low attention span, or wake up during the night choking and gasping for breath you should probably see a doctor.
